A Model Shoot At Six Corners

July 22, 2008 By Mark Draughn 2 Comments

I just finished a model shoot. I haven't got any pictures yet, so if you were hoping for some cheesecake, this post will be a disappointment (I'm looking at you, Ken!) I just thought a few people might be interested in how this works, and besides, I need a break from all the law-and-order blogging. I did a couple of group model shoots last summer, and they were fun and … [Read more...] about A Model Shoot At Six Corners

Something Fishy About DNA Fingerprinting ?

July 21, 2008 By Mark Draughn 2 Comments

There's been some excitement among criminal defense bloggers such as Mr. Greenfield, Mr. Katz, and the Dude over a fascinating Los Angeles Times article about some strange search results in some of the major DNA databases. State crime lab analyst Kathryn Troyer was running tests on Arizona's DNA database when she stumbled across two felons with remarkably similar genetic … [Read more...] about Something Fishy About DNA Fingerprinting ?

“The superman exists and he’s American.”

July 18, 2008 By Mark Draughn 2 Comments

I just found out the Watchmen trailer is up at Empire Online. I'm not a super-fan of the comic, but I can understand why some people are. In its day, it must have been the most amazing thing ever. Joss Whedon, creator of Firefly and Buffy the Vampire Slayer is in perfect form with this, his new internet project, a by-product of the recent writer's strike. Dr. Horrible is a super-villain, bent on ruling the world and getting up the nerve to speak to the girl at the laundromat. Neil Patrick Harris (How I Met Your Mother, Doogie Howser) plays Horrible brilliantly. Dr. … [Read more...] about Dr. Horrible’s Sing Along Blog – A Review

The Mild Inconvenience Of Gay Marriage

July 16, 2008 By Mark Draughn Leave a Comment

Moby Kip mentions the one thing I really don't like about gay marriage: Software changes. H&R Block has agreed to give $100 coupons or free TaxCut software to all gay couples who incurred additional costs because they were barred from using the company's online tax service, TaxCut Online. I understand how H&R Block's programmers must feel. One of my jobs is to maintain … [Read more...] about The Mild Inconvenience Of Gay Marriage
