Legal Sweatshops

July 9, 2007 By Mark Draughn 1 Comment

So you're thinking of going to law school, eh? Apparently, lawyering is not the great job it once was. If you can't land the job you want—especially if you're from a bottom-ranked law school—you'll probably have to find some scutwork to help pay off those massive student loans. That means work in a legal sweatshop as a temporary attorney, probably helping a dozen … [Read more...] about Legal Sweatshops

This was the best action movie I've seen in a long time. I was not a fan of the Transformers TV series (or comic book, or toy line), so I can't tell you if the movie is faithful to the franchise. From what I understand, the mythos is pretty confused and has changed many times, so the movie probably isn't far off from whatever Transformers fans are expecting. In the first few … [Read more...] about Transformers – Review

Happy 4th of July, Be Careful Out There

July 4, 2007 By Mark Draughn Leave a Comment

I'm debating whether to go out and take photos of the fireworks like I did last year. Apparently, a lot of the illegal fireworks shows at the parks and schools are run by cops and firemen who live in the neighborhood. If a patrol car shows up, they just flash their badges and the show goes on. The district police commander has announced a get-tough policy on fireworks this … [Read more...] about Happy 4th of July, Be Careful Out There
